Company OverviewThe Anderson Automotive Group HistoryRoger Anderson's 30 years of experience in the car dealership business took him to several states before bringing him to Nebraska. He began his career for Lew Williams Chevrolet in Sacramento, California, before going to Lew Williams Cadillac in Portland, Oregon. Roger then moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he worked as General Sales Manager for Fassett Nickel Ford-Toyota. In 1981 Roger then opened his own Ford-Lincoln-Mercury in Newcastle Wyoming and in 1983 purchased the Dodge-Plymouth dealership in Newcastle Wyoming, and a Ford dealership in Custer, South Dakota. In 1986, Roger bought Anderson-Ford-Lincoln-Mercury in Grand Island, Nebraska along with his brother Dick. In 1993 he chose the location in Lincoln, NE because of it's tremendous growth opportunity, which is now known as Anderson Ford-Mazda. Since then, he added a third store in 1996, Anderson Ford of St. Joseph, Missouri. This location has acquired a Kia franchise since then as well. In 1999, Roger's son Mike bought out his uncle Dick and joined his father in joint ownership of these dealerships. In 2003, Roger and Mike Anderson purchased the dealerships in Missouri Valley Iowa which added Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac, Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep to the Family. Shortly after in the same year they also purchased the Ford Mercury franshises in Missouri Valley. The final addition of 2003 was to add the Suzuki franchise to the St. Joseph Missouri location, making the Anderson Auto Group 12 francheses strong. |
