The Grand Island Facilities Engineer is responsible for the overall building maintenance and grounds for the Grand Island facility. This includes overseeing/coordinating by self-performing or coordinating the subcontracting of work as required. The Facilities Engineer needs the ability to accomplish, with minimal supervision, architectural repairs, site services (such as landscaping, pest control, janitorial, maintenance and equipment repair, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting and HVAC systems etc.), space planning & utilization, site drawings and working on CAPEX projects. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Ability to act as the first line of defense to any issues
  • Maintains condition of equipment, buildings, and structures by performing a variety of skilled repair tasks in the areas of carpentry, painting, dry wall, floor coverings, ceilings, doors, fitting locks and handles, elevators, etc.
  • Performs a variety of skilled tasks maintaining critical infrastructure to include building safety and regulatory requirements
  • Monitors operation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems including chilled water pumps, valves, piping, water chemistry, RTU, split and packaged heating and ventilation equipment, bipolar ionization, etc.
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all utilities at the site including the building management system (BMS).
  • 5-year capex planning for the facility to maintain and improve the site
  • Creates work orders and performs preventative maintenance work orders as scheduled.
  • Supports and directs, contractors and vendors involved in general building and equipment maintenance activities including installation, maintenance, and repair of building structures and equipment.
  • Reviews and approves completed work orders for labor hours, appropriate turn-around time, and review invoices to assure accurate and appropriate charges.
  • Provides support and assist with General Services operations as requested. 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree plus 1 or more years of facilities, building operations and/or property management experience 
  • OR Associates degree plus 7 or more years of facilities, building operations and/or property management experience
  • OR high school diploma/GED plus 10 or more years of facilities, building operations and/or property management experience
  • Flexibility to be available 24/7 in event of emergencies
  • Experience with Building automation systems
  • Experience in AutoCAD or similar 2D/3D modeling program
  • Ability to travel up to 5%
