Overview

Na Ali'i is looking for a Accounts Payable Specialist to be responsible for working with the Accounting Manager to help maintain a sound accounts payable process, to include preparing and entering accounts payable vouchers, reviewing employees' expense reports and assisting in weekly disbursement runs and assisting with corporate travel support.

Responsibilities

    Prepare and enter accounts payable vouchers and purchase order vouchers, ensuring that all coding (i.e., accounts, projects, amounts, etc.) is correct
  • Assist with evaluating and identifying internal control weaknesses over accounts payable, and establish and implement internal control improvements, as needed
  • Work directly with project managers (i.e., in person and via videoconferencing/telephone) to resolve voucher approval and processing errors, ensuring that all coding (i.e., accounts, projects, amounts, etc.) is correct
  • Research reconciling and processing errors that arise in the Accounts Payable process
  • Ensure that all documents are filed appropriately and timely
  • Assist with setting up vendors in the Accounts Payable system
  • Maintain financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Work with management to ensure timely disbursements of Account Payable as dictated by the terms and conditions of each agreement
  • Assist with corporate travel booking and estimates, maintaining corporate travel reporting, and preparing travel expense reconciliations in compliance with corporate travel policies.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis in Word, Excel, Outlook, and on-line search engines required. Previous experience processing vouchers and expense reports. Familiarity with government contracting and related HR requirements. Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and Cost Accounting Standards are preferred but not required.

Education and Experience: This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar discipline from an accredited institution as well as a minimum of two years of professional experience in an Accounting & Finance background. Experience in or work for the U.S. military is also highly desirable. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Physical Requirements: In addition to the skills and qualifications mentioned above, candidates must, at a minimum, be able to meet the following physical requirements.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to use stairs without assistance
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, lift, carry, reach, kneel, crouch, bend and climb a step stool/ladder

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $49,500.00 to $65,000.00 (annualized USD). The good faith salary range displayed represents the position at time of posting and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
