Overview

Na Ali'i is looking for a Labor and Leave Manager to be responsible for the management of the Finance and Accounting (F&A) Department's Labor and Leave processes. This includes supervising the Labor and Leave specialist in the performance of his/her duties, maintenance/administration of timekeeping functions in the accounting system, preparation/reporting of complex account reconciliations, supporting the successful completion of all Nakupuna payrolls, and supporting the accounting leadership with related items for the compilation of the monthly financial statements. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a knowledge of Deltek Costpoint and Time and Expense.

Responsibilities

    Ensure completion of state registrations and quarterly reporting. This includes updating the necessary systems to maintain compliance (ADP, CSC, etc.).
  • Service Contract Act and Davis Bacon Act employee maintenance, updates and company compliance.
  • Assist in performing, maintaining, and overseeing F&A functions, related to labor and leave. Including but not limited to:
    • Backup timesheet processing
    • Backup leave processing
    • Review and posting of related payroll journal entries
    • Project Workforce support
    • Time and Expense: Costpoint reconciliations
    • Employee records maintenance
  • Nakupuna internal customer service, helpdesk response and communication.
  • Assist with evaluating and identifying labor and leave internal control weaknesses, and establish and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Work with Program and Project Management to ensure accurate timesheets are maintained daily by employees for hours charged to direct and indirect codes.
  • Exercise compliance with regulations, external auditors, and company policy.
  • Assist in maintaining financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Complete ad hoc/other requests as necessary.
Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis in Word, Excel, Outlook, and on-line search engines required. Must be self-motivated and possess exceptional oral and written communication skills. Previous experience reviewing and compiling account reconciliations. Experience working within the Government Contracting industry is required. Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint is strongly preferred. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar discipline from an accredited institution
  • 3 years experience working in an accounting environment is preferred
  • Experience in or work for the U.S. military is highly desirable

Physical Requirements: In addition to the skills and qualifications mentioned above, candidates must, at a minimum, be able to meet the following physical requirements.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to use stairs without assistance
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, lift, carry, reach, kneel, crouch, bend and climb a step stool/ladder
