Job Description
Improves operational efficiency of the manufacturing area. Ensures safety improvements, cost reductions quality, and delivery targets are met for responsible area. Manages manufacturing process from raw materials through to finished states, or defined area of plant (e.g. assembly/fab/welding). Accountable to customers/shareholders for safety, quality, cost and schedule attainment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Workplace Organization activities in plant as World Class Manufacturing pillar leader with primary actions to drive improvements through lean manufacturing techniques including reduction of non-value added activities.
- Provide coaching and training to salaried and hourly personnel in WCM methodologies and tools.
- Organizes and leads teams of multi disciplined salaried and hourly personnel in manufacturing of a product.
- Utilizes project leaders and supports and guides them in setting up and improving manufacturing.
- Forecasts and maintains operating and capital expenditure budgets.
- Maintains budget controls through communication and corrective action.
- Conducts effective succession planning, high potential acquisition and development, and performance alignment measures.
- Manufactures high quality, cost effective components through safe work environment.
- Develops a strong technical team to drive continuous improvement.
- Launches and sustains manufacturing process.
Requirements - Bachelors Degree with proven experience in manufacturing operations. Industrial Engineering or a related engineering degree is preferred.
- Able to provide strong leadership to teams not directly within scope of control.
- 3 years minimum of management experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Must be able to demonstrate a strong track record of strong leadership and communication skills.
- Must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Project..
- Position require extensive cross-functional or engineering experience.
- Highly preferred lean manufacturing experience or training. Six Sigma certifications preferred as well.
- Heavy industry or Off-Road industry preferred.
- Extensive amount of independent thinking is required.
- Able to work under minimal supervision.
